ACTU gospel celebration to feature virtual concert with Patrick Lundy & the Ministers of Music
Post Published On:Arts for the Community at Thomas University’s next Sundays at Four event will be a gospel celebration featuring a virtual concert of Patrick Lundy & the Ministers of Music-Georgia Connection recorded live at First Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville. A native of Thomasville, Patrick Lundy formed the group in the fall of 2013 as an extension of the choir he founded in the Washington Metropolitan area almost two decades earlier. Similar to its sister choir, Patrick Lundy & the Ministers of Music-Georgia Connection consists of some of the most outstand vocalists and musicians from its area with members from Thomas, Dougherty, Grady, Mitchell, Baker and Decatur counties.
The group held its debut concert in February 2014 at the Disciples of Jesus Ministries in Thomasville. PL&MOM-GA Connection went on to perform at the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta in 2014 and at the Gospel Announcers Guild Showcase during the 47th Annual Convention of Gospel Music Workshop of America held in Atlanta in July 2014.
Lundy, a 1985 graduate of Thomasville High School, earned a degree in Music Business with a concentration in Voice from Howard University in Washington, D.C. While a college student, he assisted the renowned Dr. J. Weldon Norris with the Howard University Choir, served as Assistant Director of the Howard Gospel Choir, and also served on the music staff of several churches in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Currently Lundy is the Director of Fine Arts at Reid Temple AME Church in Glenn Dale, Maryland.
