Head Men’s and Women’s XC/ Track & Field Coach
Function:
The person in this position has complete oversight responsibility for the planning and administration of all aspects of the men’s and women’s XC/ Track & Field programs. The head men’s and women’s XC/Track & Field coach should build a sense of community and enthusiasm around the men’s and women’s XC/ Track & Field programs by engaging the student body, alumni, parents and fans.
Reports to: Athletic Director
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and retention of qualified student –athletes, who can be successful academically, socially, and athletically at Thomas University
- Coaching/practice and planning/preparation for the men’s and women’s XC/Track & Field programs
- Organization and execution of overall player development
- Include but is not limited to program budget oversight, scheduling, travel, management, and athletic training/skill development
- Game day operations and logistics
- Fundraising
- Support the University’s commitment to academic excellence
- Adhere to the guidelines/regulations of the NAIA, The SUN Conference, and Thomas University
- Track the academic progress of players
- Other job duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred
- Minimum Required: Playing and or college coaching experience
- Preferred: Three (3) years of college XC/Track & Field experience in coaching and recruiting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
- Complete NAIA Champions of Character Character-Driven online course (must be completed within 60 days of employment)

Terms of Employment:
Full benefits, letter of employment, Full-Time, 12 month exempt position, 40 hours/week, hours will vary with season. Salary is commensurate with experience based on the department scale

- Work is normally performed either outside depending upon weather conditions
- Employee may be exposed to varying temperatures and humidity levels
- Low noise levels
Work requires:
- Varying degrees of field work
- Travel, for both meets and recruiting
- Reaching/handling of various equipment repeatedly
