Assistant Sports Communications Director
Summary:
The Assistant Sports Communications Director will report directly to the Athletic Director and work collaboratively with the Sports Communications Director and the University Marketing department to administer the publicity of all of Thomas University’s athletic teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting consistent University brand awareness through maintaining video streams, writing press releases, designing publications and pre/in/post-game graphics, along with compiling statistics and records for dissemination to all internal and external constituencies, including, but not limited to, the media, community and opposing teams. The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications will also be responsible for the maintenance of the athletic department’s website and social media platforms.
Requirements:
The applicant should possess strong communication skills, both oral and written, experience with web content management systems, Adobe Creative Suite, as well as familiarity with Presto and other in-game statistical programs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Mac and PC computers. Fluency in multiple social media platforms. Experience with video and photo editing is preferred. Flexible schedule in order to work weekends and nights is required.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
1-2 years’ experience within a collegiate or professional communications/sports information/multimedia setting.
Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience.
