Human Resource Management (BS)

The Human Resource Management program emphasizes the strategic role that human resources plays in the performance of global organizations, providing students with the knowledge and skills needed to be effective HR leaders. HR outcomes impact business outcomes. Emphasis on cost-effectiveness and congruence ensures that HR policies are not only aligned with the company’s strategic goals but also implemented in a way that properly balances the needs of the employees and the needs of the company.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

A graduate of this program will be able to:

  • Analyze strategic, financial and operational plans to support informed decision-making.
  • Apply ethical, legal and data-informed decision making to human resource management policies, managing diversity and inclusion, principled leadership, HR technology, and corporate social responsibility.
  • Evaluate human capital management practices within a global context. performance management, learning and development, employee relations, and HR analytics.
  • Examine human capital management concepts, including talent acquisition and retention, employee motivation, change management, and organizational culture
  • Analyze scenarios, identify issues, apply HR concepts to propose solutions to create a supportive and productive work environment that aligns with their strategic objectives to improve retention, performance, and profitability.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication in business and workforce applications.
    Students will be prepared for entry into business, management, or leadership positions in corporate, non-profit, or governmental organizations, or to pursue a graduate degree in a related field.

Human resource managers lan, coordinate and direct the administrative functions of an organization. They are employed in nearly all industries and work in offices, mostly full-time, during regular business hours.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, opportunities for Human Resource Managers are expected to rise 6% from 2023 to 2033, faster than the average for all occupations.
