Reports to the Associate Vice President of Admission. Is primarily responsible for participating in meaningful recruitment travel and events as well as successfully managing a pool of prospective students with the objective of converting prospective students to applicants and converting applicants to enrolled students.
Responsibilities:
Plans, schedules and participates in relevant recruitment events. Works with Associate Vice President of Admission to review travel plans.
Participates in long and short range travel as required. Completes post travel/event reports.
Gives large and small group presentations while speaking informatively and enthusiastically on behalf of the college. its academic programs, student services, athletic teams, clubs and organizations.
Develops and maintains close working relationships with all organizational contacts including counselors, advisors, faculty and other opinion leaders and partners.
Maintains timely communication and enrollment counseling to prospective students and applicants.
Manages applicant files, maintains persistent regular contact with applicants through the drop, and add period. Ensure students have completed all necessary steps to start classes (e.g. housing application, registered for classes, financial aid file complete, transcripts received, etc.)
Provides an informative and welcoming environment for prospective students and their families during a campus visit, campus tour or university event. Assists with group tours.
Documents and schedules all communication and activities with prospective students in the college’s CRM.
Assists with placement exams both on campus and at remote locations.
Represents Thomas University in a positive, non-biased, non-offensive manner.
Works as a team player in order to meet the goals of the university in keeping with the TU mission statement.

The director of career services supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the college and department of student life.
Responsibilities
Supports and abides by all rules, regulations, and guidelines of the college and serves as an appropriate role model for students at all times.
Carries out the mission of the career services office. Provides career counseling and referrals to assist students with the career development process, including clarifying objectives and obtaining occupational information.
Provides career planning assistance through appointments with individuals, online assistance, and regularly scheduled workshops with groups.
Provides instruction to career planning in college experience classes.
Establishes and maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with students, alumni, faculty, employers, and the general public. Initiates contact with employers.
Assists students with career development and planning process, including obtaining information on companies, current opportunities for employment and hiring practices, and making the transition from school to career.
Plans and implements job fairs and on-campus recruiting events.
Distributes information on internships, summer jobs, and local part-time jobs.
Provides and updates computer software and library resources.
Maintains online recruitment system and works closely with webmaster to maintain/update career services web site.
Promotes career services to students, alumni, and employers through a variety of marketing efforts.
Establishes office policies and procedures, prepares regular reports, and collects and analyzes data relevant to the career planning and placement of students and alumni.
Assists in the development of a budget, supervises expenditures, and maintains fiscal responsibility.
Supervises graduate interns.
Attends student life staff meetings and training events.
Fulfills other duties as assigned by the vice president for student life.
Qualifications:
The director of career services must have a Master’s or doctorate degree and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification and/or a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification.
The Financial Aid Specialist position involves performing customer service job duties and assisting with administrative tasks in the Office of Financial Aid. This position reports to Director of Student Financial Services.

Assist students with completing the FAFSA, Direct Loan Entrance Counseling, and other required financial aid documents.
Correspond with prospective, current, and former students via in-person office visits, phone, mail or email.
Counsel current and prospective students, as well as parents, regarding financial aid resources and applications.
Evaluate financial aid applications and supporting documents to determine student eligibility.
Conduct verification process for students selected for verification.
Certify and process student loans (federal and private).
Counsel students contemplating withdraw and the possible effects on financial aid eligibility and student debt.
Monitor academic status of students with regard to compliance with federal quantitative and qualitative regulations.
Assist in reconciliation of financial aid data each semester for all financial aid programs.
Assist in compiling data and creating reports for internal and external sources.
Package financial aid awards.
Electronically send/receive Pell and Direct Loan origination and disbursement records.
Research external scholarships for inclusion on the Thomas University website.
Maintain Confidentiality of student records.
Participate in required institution meetings.
Participate in professional training opportunities as provided.
Be available for occasional evening or weekend assignments due to special events or work-related travel.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required, plus related experience in higher education.
Prior experience in a Financial office is preferred
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
proven ability to think strategically and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or reminders to complete tasks.
Adherence to professional ethics including confidentiality
A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in medical laboratory science, medical technology, clinical laboratory science or in a related science (e.g., laboratory sciences such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, immunology, etc.), AND completion of a medical technology clinical practice program. Clinical practice programs completed after 1974 must have been accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP, formerly CAHEA), or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). The professional curriculum may have consisted of a post-baccalaureate certificate program or be integrated into a four-year program of study that culminated in a baccalaureate degree

The Medical Technologist, GS 0644-07, is an entry level Medical Technologist (MT), career development position, practicing under close supervision of a MT at or above the full performance level.
The Medical Technologist, GS 0644-09, is considered the full performance level non-supervisory. The work performed is in a variety of laboratory disciplines, which requires a broad exercise of independent judgement and responsibility, including organizing and setting priorities with minimal technical supervision.
