Three of Thomas University’s Medical Laboratory Science students competed in the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science’s Georgia State Society meeting held March 7 at the Wellstar Development Center in Atlanta. TU’s students took a clean sweep of the undergraduate category in the competition.
Thomas University’s continued commitment to veterans and current military students resulted in TU being named to a Top 10 Military Friendly School® for 2020-2021. TU ranked 8th in the Top 10 List for private universities that do not offer doctorate degrees. TU has been named to the Military Friendly Schools list several times. This is the third year TU has made the Top 10 list.

next installment in Thomas University’s Science Café series will feature
Florida State University’s Dr. Jeremy Owens presenting “Biological Evolution
During Major Climatic Events” on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
The artwork of Sean Hurley and T. Craig Hawkins will be featured
in Thomas University’s Art Gallery in the exhibit “Valdosta Artists,” which opens
on Monday, Jan. 13, and runs through March 26. Hurley and Hawkins are art faculty
members at Valdosta State University.
The Accreditation Commission of Education in Nursing (ACEN)
will visit Thomas University Feb. 11-13, 2020, as part of the requirements for
continuing accreditation of TU’s RN-BSN (Registered Nurse to Bachelor of
Science in Nursing) program.
Thomasville Singers will present their winter concert, “Benedictus,”
at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Thomasville First United Methodist Church, 425 N.
Broad St.
The Division of Counseling and Psychology at Thomas
University is seeking applications for the position of Affiliate Assistant
Professor to teach in our online Bachelor of Rehabilitation Studies and Master
of Clinical Mental Health and Clinical Counseling programs beginning Fall Semester
2020. Thomas University
affiliate faculty members are expected to make an outstanding
contribution to teaching and learning.
In contrast to other full-time faculty, the position does not require
participation in governance or committees and holds no expectation for advising
of students.
A doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision and proven
excellence in teaching is required. Successful applicants must be
licensed counselors and/or a certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
Candidates must be adept in the use of instructional technology
and have experience in hybrid/online course development. College/university
teaching experience is preferred.

The Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education at Thomas University inducted new members on Thursday, Nov. 14, during a ceremony held in the Flowers Foods Executive Classroom inside Smith-Bonvillian Hall. To be inducted as a member of Kappa Delta Pi a student has to be an Education major in their second semester as a sophomore, junior or senior and ranks in the top 20 percent of their class or have a 3.5 or higher GPA.
The Night Hawk Review is Thomas University’s annual literary arts journal. It features original poetry, short fiction, essays and literary nonfiction by students, faculty and staff. The journal also includes contributions of photography and visual art. The Night Hawk Review is published each spring semester, and a release party is scheduled for the end of the academic year. This event features readings by contributors to the journal, as well as a guest poet. Submissions of both creative writing and artwork are reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Students are also involved in the editing and layout of the journal.
