Work Study Position – Student IT Technician

Position Description: A Student IT Technician will work in the IT Services Department as part of the team to help support TU technology and users. This position will report to the Director of IT Services.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Assist with the deployment and setup of technology resources including computers, printers, audiovisual equipment, and other IT infrastructure. Ensure proper installation and configuration according to university standards.

· Provide excellent customer service by addressing user inquiries and concerns professionally and courteously. Maintain a positive and helpful attitude while assisting users with technical issues.

· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in offices and classrooms.

· Testing, maintenance and cleaning of equipment, labs, classrooms. Disposal of old equipment and helping cleanup IT storage areas.

· Adhere to university policies and procedures regarding data security and confidentiality. Ensure proper handling and protection of sensitive information during technical support activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Must be a full-time student.

· Must be in good academic standing.

· Must have the ability to take and follow through with directions.

· Must have good work habits i.e. be on time and work on the days and times assigned.

· Work collaboratively with IT Services personnel.

Work Conditions:

· Ability to lift/carry and push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
